Murder-Suicide Note Posted In Facebook

LOS ANGELES - A California man who killed himself and his 9-month-old son in an apparent murder-suicide left dozens of angry, desperate messages to the boy's mother, including a lengthy suicide note and a memorial collage that appeared on the Web hours after he was dead.

The bodies of 25-year-old Stephen Garcia of Pinon Hills and his son Wyatt were found early Sunday on an isolated dirt trail in the San Bernardino Mountains.

The discovery came after authorities learned that Garcia had taken the boy during a court-ordered visit and threatened to kill him and commit suicide.

Eat for 1st time since 10 Nov 09 arrest

CHIBA - Tatsuya Ichihashi, the prime suspect in the 2007 murder of British woman Lindsay Hawker, ate for the first time Tuesday since his arrest two weeks ago, police said. Ichihashi, 30, ate a meal served at lunchtime at Gyotoku Police Station in Chiba Prefecture, a few hours before he was transferred to a detention facility inside the Chiba prison, which has doctors and nurses.

He had refused to eat since his Nov 10 arrest and health concerns prompted the Chiba prefectural police to file for court permission for his transfer. The police received permission on Tuesday morning.
During his transfer at around 3 p.m., Ichihashi was able to walk without any help and did not stagger, according to the police.
Ichihashi received a nutritional supplement injection on Nov 16 after he staggered when heading to an interrogation room from his cell inside the police station.
He continues to remain silent about the death of 22-year-old Hawker, as well as the charge of abandoning her body.
His arrest came after more than two-and-a-half years on the run on a technical charge of abandoning Hawker’s body in a sand-filled bathtub in his apartment in the Chiba Prefecture city of Ichikawa in March 2007.

Cop arrested for stealing girl's underwear during investigation

HYOGO - A 26-year-old local police officer was arrested for theft and illegal trespassing early Tuesday after he allegedly stole 25 pieces of underwear from a 14-year-old girl who lived at an apartment he was visiting as part of an investigation. Officer Yuki Miyamoto is suspected of sneaking into the girl’s room and stealing underwear from her dresser after visiting the apartment on Saturday.

The girl had phoned police after being flashed by a strange man on the same day, and Miyamoto had taken the call. He visited the girl’s apartment on
Saturday afternoon. Only the girl and her younger sister, 13, were home at the time. Later that night, the girl was about to get into the bath when she noticed that all her panties were gone. Her mother called the police.

According to police, after speaking with the girl at the entrance to the apartment, Miyamoto said that he would like to check her bedroom. The girl quoted him as saying that he had to call headquarters in private. She said he took his bag and went into her room to make a call.

Miyamoto first denied the charges, but changed his statement and admitted to stealing the girl’s panties. He said he threw them away after realizing he would be caught.

Man slashes woman because he 'can't get a girlfriend'

OSAKA —

Police said Friday they have arrested a 38-year-old man for allegedly

slashing a woman, 30, with a bladed weapon in Higashi-Osaka on Thursday night. The woman suffered minor injuries.

According to police, Akihito Naito was not acquainted with the woman. He was quoted as saying, “I can’t get a girlfriend because women always turn me down. I thought this would make me feel better. I didn’t target any specific woman. Anyone would have been OK.”

Naito reportedly approached the woman, who was chatting with a co-worker, on his bike and cut her from behind. He then threw away his bike and ran away, but was caught by two passersby about 50 meters away. A box cutter was found nearby.
